Professor Dr. Md. Kudrat-E-Zahan is an eminent academic, researcher, and university administrator with a distinguished career in higher education and scientific research. He is currently serving as the Vice-Chancellor of the University of Bogura, where he is leading the development of the newly established institution and laying the foundation for its academic, research, and administrative excellence. Prior to his appointment as Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Md. Kudrat-E-Zahan served as a Professor in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Rajshahi, where he has made significant contributions to teaching, research, and academic development. His academic and research interests encompass areas of coordination chemistry, inorganic chemistry, coordination complexes, synthetic chemistry, and related fields of materials and chemical sciences. Professor Dr. Md. Kudrat-E-Zahan was appointed as the first Vice-Chancellor of Bogra Science and Technology University in June 2025 and assumed office on 4 June 2025. His appointment marked a significant milestone in the institutional development of the university. As Vice-Chancellor, he is committed to establishing the University of Bogura as a research-oriented, technology-driven, innovative, and globally connected institution of higher education. His vision places strong emphasis on academic quality, research and innovation, technology-based education, skilled human-resource development, international collaboration, and student welfare. In his vision for the university, he has emphasized that the formative years of a new university are particularly important for establishing its institutional identity and long-term academic foundation. His priorities include commencing academic programmes, developing competent and research-oriented faculty, strengthening research activities, promoting international collaboration, and creating an environment conducive to students' academic and personal development. He also advocates an education system that goes beyond conventional academic achievement by developing students' professional skills, communication abilities, technological competencies, leadership qualities, and capacity for collaborative problem-solving. His vision includes strengthening students' access to technology, skills development, counselling, and other support services. Under his leadership, the University of Bogura aspires to emerge as a centre of excellence in education, research, innovation, and knowledge creation, contributing meaningfully to the socio-economic development of Bogura and Bangladesh. Professor Dr. Md. Kudrat-E-Zahan is also engaged in scholarly writing and public discourse on higher education, education policy, national development, and social issues. His recent writings have addressed subjects including higher education, teachers' professional dignity, national solidarity, and the future direction of education in Bangladesh.
